Using a powersaw is a skilled job and can be very dangerous without proper training. The trees are felled with the powersaw (shown here is bench felling - the trees are felled across others to make it easier to turn them), they are then snedded (branches are trimmed off) before being measured using a tape and finally cross-cutting the trees into different lengths.
