Position Title: Continuous Forest Inventory (CFI) Project Forester

Status: Classified as Temporary Full-Time; from July 6, 1999, to December 31, 1999.

Positions Open: Sixteen (16)

Department: MTE Forestry

Salary: GS5/1 ($21,051/yr) or GS5/2 ($21,753/yr) W/ experience

Qualifications: Minimum of an Associate?s degree with the core forestry classes completed (please send transcripts), but a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry or a closely related field from an accredited school is preferred. Must be able to measure and record data accurately and legibly. Prior experience in forest inventory measurements preferred. Must be in excellent physical condition, capable of working under all weather conditions and in rough terrain. Some risk of hazards. Required to carry 30 pounds of equipment. Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work closely with people from a variety of backgrounds. Must possess a valid driver's license. Ability to provide own off-road transportation a plus.

Responsibilities: Participates in CFI training as provided. Performs technical measurements as described in project manual. May assist with other project-related forestry operations and functions.
