FORESTRY TECHNICIAN POSITION SOUGHT - Chris Ryan writes, "I am a Forestry Technician and Licensed Ontario Timber Scaler who is enquiring about any possible forestry employment. I have been the Forestry Technician in the Forestry Technology Department at Algonquin College for five years, and have made a positive impact in the forestry field.  Ongoing discussions with local government agencies (Ministry of Natural Resources, Algonquin Forestry Authority, Renfrew County), and private woodlot owners or industry has aided me in the development of major contacts whom are key elements in the existence of Renfrew County Forestry and private land forestry in regards to woodlots.  The Forestry Program, as in the Renfrew County Stewardship Program, made me bring together landowners, organizations, and government agencies to share information and create concrete partnerships in order that common interests and educational values were shared and developed. Instructing at the College, and instructing the Ontario Provincial Scaling Course has not only made me an effective team member, but a team leader.  All detailed work had to be completely organized and structured so that deadlines were met.  Being the technician made me possess efficiency and the ability to work independently.  This technical position not only was mentally demanding, but also orally.  It made me effectively communicate with all students and other staff members. I have certified training in the manufacturing sector.  I have served on the Algonquin College'sSafety Committee for four years now.  We conduct safety inspections of the college, and make certain that all aspects of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are met and maintained each and every day. I also have excellent computer skills in Email or Internet (electronic messaging), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or to Corel WordPerfect (word processing), etc." For further information, please contact Chris Ryan at  Box 43, Waltham, Quebec, Canada J0X 3H0 Tel: +1-819-689-2299.
