Forest Education in Australia
Message from a GAOF member

I can only speak briefly about forest employment in Australia as am not an expert on these matters.  Some information is better than none.

Two Universities have run a Bachelor of Forest Science for many years now.  They are the University of Melbourne, and the Australian National University, in Canberra.  A third university is now offering the same degree, being the Southern Cross University, NSW.

The entry prerequisites from high school are similar to that for a Science degree, and usually very similar in ranking.  (ie. the cut-off score is similar for both degrees).  At all locations I believe the Bachelor of Forest Science is a four year degree.

There is a bit more info on Australian Forestry at Web Site

Hope this helps.
